The Stockton & Copperopolis occupies an area of my basement measuring about 25 x 35 feet exclusive of the Holden alcove which is about 12 x 12 feet. Aisles are generally three feet wide but narrow down to 30 inches at a few points. It is enough, I think to allow me to represent the railroad and consume enough of my spare time for quite a while. There is a crew lounge and bathroom just outside the railroad room's doors which provide the other necessities of a sociable railroad.
