Passenger Cars

The only passenger equipment currently on the railroad is that of the Moraga Springs Northern. There are four day coaches, two combines, one express car and two RPO-Baggage cars.  All of these cars were built from the old Westwood Model car parts and Evergreen siding.  Model Die Casting roofs were lengthened or shortened to match as were their underframes.  The Stockton & Copperopolis will eventually have some open-platform cars with duckbill roofs which will also be made of Westwood parts.

Moraga Springs Northern Pullmans

The crack passenger trains of the MSN are the Valley Flyer (No. 103) and the Capital Flyer (No. 104). They both are all-Pullman vestibuled trains complete with electric lights, dining car and buffet service. There is through sleeping car and express service to Stockton via the Stockton & Copperopolis.

Sleeping Cars Ceres and Sequoia

The cars themselves are built up from Westwood parts. Although this company has been out of business for around 30 years, their cars are still found occasionally in swap meets and on ebay. They are very versatile and windows can be rearranged to form many different cars. I highly recommend them for anyone wanting top-notch equipment. All of the Flyer cars were converted to narrow vestibules. The paint was done to match the pre-1900 standard Pullman color of brown. Artwork for the lettering and scrolling was created from photos of Pullman cars of the late and 1880s and 1890s.

Cabooses

There are currently nine cabooses in use on the railroad, all of them lettered for the MSN Ry.  Five of them are four-wheel bobbers of which three were kitbashed from old Mantua kits and two from kits from the '50's.  Three of the hacks are Colorado Midland models imported by MEW in the '60's and the other is a drovers' caboose kitbashed from a Mantua civil war combine.

The S&C will eventually have cabooses modeled after Central Pacific standard side-door cabooses.
