The Felix Mining District was one of the first gold mining areas in this part of the country. Although most of the mining has now gone to the Hodson District, a bit south, there is still one operating mine which provides some shipments and requires occasional supplies. A flagstop platform is available for the few passengers which stop. The long siding will also be a good place to leave a cut of cars if trains have to double the hill en route to Copperopolis.
