The Stockton and Copperopolis uses code 55 trackage throughout the visible sections of the railroad. While Micro Engineering makes great flex track in code 55, the only turnouts available are those which are custom made. For a railroad this size, it would be financially problematic to buy all of the turnouts so I decided to make these using the Fast Tracks jigs. They are terrific! After a little practice, I can put a turnout together, ready to install on the railroad, in about 30 minutes. There are a few of us in the Kansas City area who are using these jigs and we all have the same report.

If making your own turnouts appeals to you, try these jigs. They are not cheap but, the more turnouts you make, the price seems reasonable. The jigs can be ordered right from the Fast Tracks website but, through a hobby shop owner friend of mine, you can get a 10% Discount by clicking on the Fast Tracks logo above or by typing the following URL into your browser http://dcc-shop.fast-tracks.net. When you get to checkout, be sure to enter the code 974 to get your discout. I do not get anything from these sales except the satisfaction of recommending a good product.
