Farmington, as its name implies, is a farming community. Its main crop has been wheat but, now that the large wheat ranches are being broken up into smaller farms, some diversity is present. Farmington has a fruit packing plant and winery as well as the ever-present grain warehouses. The depot is small but adequate

Looking eastward at Farmington, the depot site is in the center with the house track at left. The rails went through Farmington on a high fill so the town will be depressed in the open area at the left. Warehouse will be at the far end of the siding as well.
