The Stockton & Copperopolis Railroad was a real railroad which was built in 1871 with the goal of connecting the river port of Stockton, California to the copper mining town of Copperopolis. My HO model of that railroad is based on the prototype and modified to include my freelanced Moraga Springs Northern Railway as well. My name is Don Ball and I am in process of building the S&C in the basement of my home. It's mostly plywood with some track right now but you might find it interesting to see why I am modeling this obscure short line and how I plan to get there.
